On Friday February 13, Brooklyn’s own BRANCHEZ and LA based trap aficionado SALVA will be gracing the stage of Webster Hall for a grimy, high energy night full of aggressive “turn-ups”.
It’s no surprise that Branchez happens to be playing the night of Valentine’s Day Eve. His heavily R&B influenced style and penchant for smooth, sensuous melodies makes him one of the major players in the league of sexy-time beat makers. Just listen to his classic edit of Stay (Rihanna) to see exactly what I’m talking about. The bearded New Yorker also plays with elements of jazz, funk, and hip hop in his works and mixing style, always keeping the crowd in a dazed, sultry state.
Headlining is Salva, who recently released an impressive repetoire of bootlegs, fashioned after 10 big name rap tracks.(called $$$ Secret Stash $$$). You can bank on him dropping at least a couple of those edits Friday night. Besides that, Salva also put out an extremely well received, hard hitting mixtape called PEACEMAKER (featuring artists like Schoolboy Q, ASAP Ferg, and Young Thug)– and a little track you may have heard of… an edit of Kanye’s Mercy with RL Grime. It’s safe to say we will be elbow deep– in the trap–all night long.
Drop “Daily Beat” at the door before midnight to get in for free, or after midnight for reduced admission.
